Dun Being Wimpy is a stunning buckskin son of Wimpys Little Step out of a Jerry Lees Surprise daughter, Dun with Surprizes. He has the talent and mind to be a great show horse with the ability to +1 all reining maneuvers. Unfortunately, his show career was plagued with a series of injuries that ultimately ended his career. He was only shown a couple times. At the Cactus Reining Classic in Scottsdale he marked a 217 with a Limited Open Rider. He has spent time in training with Andrea Fappani and it was anticipated that he would be shown by him as a derby horse. Though his talent was endless his injuries prevented this. He has a wonderful disposition and a great mind.
About the Sire: Wimpys Little Step is quite simply a reining phenomenon. During his three year old year, this bionic stallion captured the interest of the reining industry when he won both the 2002 AQHA Congress Open Reining Futurity and the 2002 NRHA Open Futurity with Shawn Flarida in the saddle. In doing so, Wimpys Little Step earned over $185,000. He is only the second horse to win both the Congress and NRHA Open Futurities. Just six short years later, the 9-year-old stallion was the NRHA’s newest and youngest Million Dollar Sire.
About the Dam: Dun with Surprizes was a wonderful show horse with NRHA earnings. She has also produced a daughter of Wimpys little Step who won the Italian Prefuturity as well as a son of Gallo De Ciello that is a NRHA money earner. She is currently owned by the Arcese family who have continued to breed her to Wimpys Little Step.
Wimpy is standing at Heritage Ranch. Breed Fee: $750. Shipped semen available.
